Projective Boundary Certificates for Neural Selective Prediction

Construct a neural acceptance or abstention set from calibration samples together with an explicit boundary map selecting the samples that determine the set. If the map is proper projective and its cross-sample complexity profile is stable, the conditional violation risk has an exact beta law indexed by boundary size rather than network parameter count. This provides a falsifiable, distribution-free certificate for neural selective classifiers and learned safety filters.

Conformal CBVF Safety Shield

Wrap an observation-based neural policy with a real-time safety filter that accounts for uncertainty in its latent-state estimate. The policy proposes an action, while a quadratic program minimally modifies that action so a control-barrier/value function remains nonnegative for every state inside a conformally calibrated error set.

Audited Risk-Budgeted Early Exit

Attach a cheap risk score to each neural-network prediction and skip an expensive verifier, ensemble, diffusion refinement, retrieval call, or human review when the score is below a calibrated threshold. Independently audit a random subset of skipped examples using the expensive ground-truth procedure, and select the largest skip threshold whose exact confidence bound keeps the violation rate below a target budget.

Sharp JL Hidden-State Bottleneck

Insert a linear Johnson–Lindenstrauss bottleneck around a set of jointly processed representations, choosing its width from the sharp finite-set dimension bound rather than from the model's nominal hidden size. The projection should preserve pairwise distances between tokens, patches, or retrieved items, allowing a downstream attention or MLP block to operate at lower width while retaining the geometry relevant to similarity computations.

Relevant-Noise RG Curriculum

Inject weak, unpostselected stochastic perturbations into activations, attention links, or recurrent transitions, but scale their strength according to effective computational size. The schedule is designed so that noise is initially a weak perturbation and becomes dominant only beyond a controlled depth or sequence length, producing a measurable crossover rather than uncalibrated constant dropout.

Mode-Aware Mask Schedule

Train masked predictors with an explicit mixture of high-visibility masks, low-visibility masks, and a small atom at the fully masked input. High-visibility masks preserve ordinary denoising quality, while low-visibility and fully masked examples force the network to learn global mode frequencies that are invisible when nearly all context is shown. Tune the low-visibility mass using unconditional-mode recovery as an auxiliary validation metric.

Tail-Weighted Optimal Batch Scheduling

Replace a static batch size with a schedule optimized for a prescribed learning-rate schedule and a fixed total number of processed examples. Steps whose stochastic-gradient noise has a large effect on the paper's loss bound receive larger batches, with the weighting determined by the future learning-rate tail rather than by a hand-designed warmup or cooldown rule.

Confidence-Tested LoRA Pruning

Replace deterministic LoRA importance scores with one-sided tests of whether each rank-one update has population contribution at least a user-selected threshold. Maintain empirical contribution samples during fine-tuning, estimate their uncertainty, and prune the components with the weakest statistical evidence while respecting the target rank budget. The method should avoid deleting components merely because their latest minibatch gradient was small.

Haar-Averaged Invariant Attention

Replace ordinary pairwise attention similarity by an affinity averaged over transformed keys or values. The resulting attention is invariant to the group action on either input and avoids requiring the network to learn identical attention patterns for every rotated or transformed copy.

Finite-Width NNGP Covariance Stabilizer

Add a training-time regularizer that keeps the empirical joint covariance of hidden activations on multiple inputs close to the recursively predicted NNGP covariance. The regularizer targets the finite-width fluctuations quantified by the Wasserstein result, and is particularly appropriate for recurrent networks and attention blocks with shared weights, where hidden states at different positions or time steps are statistically coupled.

Free-Loss Jacobian Spectral Target

Regularize the end-to-end Jacobian singular-value distribution of a deep network toward the explicit free small-loss law generated by independently mixed projection-like layers. The target controls several gradient-spectrum moments, including the predicted fraction of nearly preserved directions, instead of controlling only the average gradient norm.

Laplace-Heterogeneous MoE Routing

Replace the usual hand-designed expert-load penalty with a heterogeneous survival penalty derived from a susceptibility distribution. Each expert receives an availability factor q_e=G(A_e), where A_e is its cumulative recent routing pressure and G_e is a learned or fixed mixture of exponentials; highly used experts are suppressed smoothly, while heterogeneous experts can have different resistance to pressure. The mixture produces adaptive curvature and long-tailed penalties that may reduce…
